Patio Covers in Dallas-Fort Worth

In North Texas, shade is the difference between a patio you use and one you look at. ALC Construction Pros builds custom patio covers across DFW, attached and freestanding, in wood and aluminum, so your backyard works in July as well as it does in October.

Reclaim Your Backyard From the Sun

A patio cover does more than throw shade. It drops the temperature on the patio by several degrees, keeps the rain off so you can sit outside during a summer storm, and protects your furniture and grill from bleaching and rust. Done right, it also makes the back of the house look finished instead of bare. The key is tying the cover into your existing roofline and drainage so it looks original to the house and sends water where it should go. That is where a lot of cheap covers fail. We build them to match and to last.

Types of Patio Cover We Build

Attached patio covers

Connected to the house and tied into the roofline for a seamless look. The most popular choice for covering a back patio off the living room or kitchen.

Freestanding covers

A standalone structure anywhere in the yard, over a seating area, an outdoor kitchen, or a spot by the pool.

Wood patio covers

Cedar or stained wood for a warm, natural look that matches a wood deck. Built solid for full shade or open like a pergola for filtered light.

Aluminum patio covers

Low-maintenance, insulated options that never need painting and shrug off weather. A smart pick if you want shade with zero upkeep.

Add-ons That Make the Space

Recessed lighting and fans for the evenings so the patio stays usable after dark. Ceiling finishes that make the underside feel like a room. Gutters that keep runoff off your head. And we can combine a cover with a new deck, an outdoor kitchen, or a fireplace so the whole area works together.

Patio Cover FAQs

How much does a patio cover cost in Dallas-Fort Worth?

Most patio covers run from a few thousand dollars for a simple attached wood cover to considerably more for a large insulated aluminum or custom structure with lighting and fans. Size, material, and whether it ties into the roof all move the number. We give a firm written price after we see the space, for free.

Do I need a permit for a patio cover?

Usually yes for an attached or permanent cover, since it connects to the house structure. Requirements vary by city across DFW. We handle the permitting and build to code so it passes inspection.

Attached or freestanding, which is better?

Attached covers look the most built-in and are ideal right off the house. Freestanding covers give you freedom to shade a spot away from the house, like a pool area or outdoor kitchen. We help you decide based on your yard.

Wood or aluminum patio cover?

Wood looks warm and matches a wood deck but needs occasional staining. Aluminum costs a bit more up front, never needs painting, and handles weather with almost no upkeep. If low maintenance is the goal, go aluminum.

Can you add a cover to my existing patio or deck?

Yes, as long as the patio or deck structure can support it, which we check first. Adding a cover to an existing outdoor space is one of the most popular upgrades we do.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was a very good choice when I chose this company to do a great job in terms of design. Mrs. Zala did a wonderful design and the choice of the type of tiles, sinks and bathroom seat was more than excellent. The implementation was fast and perfect and they checked every little and big thing. Other than that, the cost price was very excellent. I advise everyone to deal with them as they are friendly and their choice of workers is safe and experienced👍👍👍👍👍👍
