This full bathroom remodel in West Irving, TX 75062 took a dated, cramped bathroom and turned it into a clean, modern space the homeowner can actually enjoy. We wrapped it up in August 2026, and the before and after photos on this page show just how far it came.
The original bathroom had reached the stage every homeowner recognizes. An old tub-and-shower combo with an aging tile surround, a worn vanity, dated lighting, and a layout that felt tight and dark. It still worked, technically, but nothing about it felt fresh.

Rather than tile over old problems, our crew stripped the bathroom down to the framing. That is the part you never see in a finished photo, and it is where a remodel is either done right or set up to fail. With the walls open, we checked the framing, ran new plumbing for the shower, and installed a proper waterproof shower pan liner before a single tile went up. Water is the enemy of any bathroom, and getting the waterproofing right is what keeps a good-looking shower from turning into a hidden leak two years down the road.
The biggest change was converting the old tub-shower combo into a roomy walk-in shower. We tiled the walls in large-format marble-look tile, built a recessed niche into the wall for shampoo and soap so nothing has to balance on a ledge, and finished the shower floor with a penny-round mosaic that adds grip and a bit of texture. A glass door with matte black hardware closes it in without blocking the light, and matte black fixtures, including a rainfall shower head, pull the whole look together.
Swapping a tub for a walk-in shower is one of the most popular bathroom upgrades we do in the DFW area. It makes a smaller bathroom feel larger, it is far easier to clean, and it is a smart move for anyone thinking ahead to aging in place. On the vanity wall, we installed a custom stone countertop with a soft curved front and a built-in ledge above it for extra storage and display. Paired with a new sink, an updated faucet, and a fresh coat of warm neutral paint, it gives the room a calm, finished feel. New wood-look flooring in a deep tone grounds the space and plays nicely against the lighter tile and walls. A new toilet and updated lighting round out the work.
The result is a bathroom that feels bigger, brighter, and years newer, all without changing the home’s footprint. Same room, completely different experience.
