Custom Wood Deck Builder in Dallas-Fort Worth

There is a reason wood decks never went out of style. The look, the warmth underfoot, the smell of fresh cedar on a spring morning. ALC Construction Pros builds custom wood decks across DFW in cedar and pressure-treated pine, designed around your yard and built to hold up in North Texas.

Real Wood, Built Right

Wood is the classic choice, and it is still the most affordable way to get a real deck. It costs less than composite up front, takes stain beautifully, and can be refinished years down the road to look new again. The trade is upkeep. Wood needs sealing every year or two here to fight the sun and the swing between dry heat and sudden storms. The part homeowners underestimate is the frame. A wood deck lives or dies on its footings and framing, and in our clay soil that means going deep enough that the structure does not heave when the ground moves. We build the part you never see as carefully as the part you do.

Cedar and Pressure-Treated Pine

Western red cedar resists rot and insects naturally, stays cooler than pine, and has a rich grain that takes a clear or tinted stain well, the upgrade pick when you want the deck to look as good as it feels. Pressure-treated pine is the workhorse, treated to resist rot and termites, strong, and easy on the budget. With regular sealing it holds up for years, which is why it is the most common decking in Texas backyards.

What We Build Into a Wood Deck

Custom layouts

Single level, wraparound, multi-level, or a deck that steps down to a patio or pool. We design to your yard, not a catalog.

Railings and stairs

Wood, metal baluster, or cable, with stairs placed where the traffic actually flows.

Built-in seating and planters

Benches, planter boxes, and privacy screens built from the same wood so it all ties together.

Stain and seal

We finish the deck with a quality stain and sealer and show you how to keep it looking right, or come back to reseal it down the road.

Wood Deck FAQs

Plan on sealing every one to two years in our climate. Full Texas sun and the swing between dry heat and heavy rain break down finish faster than in milder regions. Cedar can sometimes stretch closer to two years; pressure-treated pine usually wants annual attention.
Cedar looks better, stays cooler, and naturally resists rot and bugs, but it costs more. Pressure-treated pine is stronger for the money and very common in Texas, but it needs consistent sealing. If budget is the priority, go pine. If looks and comfort matter more, go cedar.
With regular sealing and a solid frame, a pressure-treated deck commonly lasts 15 to 20 years and a well-kept cedar deck can go longer. Neglect the sealing and that number drops fast, which is the main reason some homeowners choose composite instead.
Yes. If the frame and boards are sound, we can sand, replace any bad boards, and reseal it to bring it back. If the structure is failing, we will tell you honestly whether restoration or a rebuild is the better spend.
Most attached wood decks and any raised deck need a permit and inspection in DFW cities. We pull the permits and build to code so your deck passes inspection and does not cause problems when you sell.
